Mt. Rainier Winter Micro Wedding
This day was magic.
Cooper and Allison planned the most intentional and love-filled wedding day at Mt. Rainier.
They booked a couple of Airbnbs that doubled as a venue where their family and friends gathered for a few days.
Due to the crazy snow, they had to pivot last minute and change the ceremony from the snowy mountain to the Airbnb. Allison had envisioned a snowy vibe for the ceremony, but honestly once I saw the new spot I knew it would be so beautiful. The sky even opened up as they exchanged vows 🥲
We were able to go up into the mountain just the few of us and got some photos in the snow ❄️ During the couple’s portraits it started to rain and by the end of it we were all soaked. (Shoutout to her hair and makeup team). They were the best sports and their happiness was literally radiating off of them. It was so fun 🤭
After we wrapped up with couple’s photos, we headed back to the boy’s Airbnb where the family was preparing dinner. The rest of the evening everyone put on comfy clothes and relaxed together!
Some more highlights from the day:
These types of weddings are my absolute favorite. There is nothing that compares to an intimate ceremony where every person in a seat has played a pivotal role in the couple’s lives.
Adventure weddings/elopements are so stunning here in Washington and are more accessible than you think. Who else wants to get married in the mountains? 🥹🏔️🌲
A few tips if you’re thinking of an adventure wedding here in Washington:
Make sure you check if you need any permits. I can help you with this, but just make sure you’re aware of this ahead of time so there are no surprises!
A wedding is so much more than the typical “highlights” like the ceremony, first look, portraits, etc. If you want the true story of your day told through photography, make sure you build in time just to hang out with your and your people while your photographer is there
As a fellow type - A person, I know how hard it is to let go of control. Especially on such a big day. However Cooper and Allison really just rolled with the punches of the weather and pivoted accordingly. It always works out for the best, so just keep in mind you’ll need to let go of your inner Monica and channel more of your inner Phoebe during adventure weddings. I mean it’s in the name, adventure 🤝 spontaneity
